Edgoro helps you build trading tools. Using them in real markets involves real risk — please read this before you trade with anything created in Edgoro.

Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Edgoro is a software tool, not a broker or financial adviser: nothing it produces is investment advice, and past or backtested performance does not guarantee future results.

Trading can lose you money

Trading forex, CFDs, futures, options, stocks, cryptocurrencies or any other financial instrument involves a substantial risk of loss and isn't suitable for everyone. You can lose part or all of the money you trade with. With some products, and depending on your broker and the protections in your country, losses can even exceed your deposit.

Markets can move quickly, gap over weekends or on news, and become illiquid. When that happens, orders — including stop-losses — may be filled at a much worse price than expected. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

Leverage magnifies losses

Leverage lets you control a large position with a small amount of margin, so a small price move can produce a large gain or loss relative to your account. Margin calls and stop-outs can close your positions automatically at a loss. Regulators, including in the European Union, require CFD providers to warn that a high proportion of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Make sure you understand how leverage and margin work with your broker before you trade.

Automated trading has its own risks

Expert Advisors and strategy scripts act on their own, which adds risks that manual trading doesn't have:

  • Logic errors. Code — including AI-generated code — can contain bugs, or do something different from what you intended.
  • Technical failures. Internet or power cuts, a computer going to sleep, a VPS failure, platform updates or broker server problems can stop an EA from managing open trades.
  • Execution differences. Slippage, requotes, partial fills and widening spreads affect results, and symbol specifications (contract size, lot step, minimum stop distance, trading hours) differ between brokers.
  • Speed and repetition. An unattended EA can open many trades quickly, and a repeated error can compound losses before you notice.
  • Platform, broker and prop firm rules. Some restrict or prohibit certain automated strategies; breaking those rules can cost you an account.

Always use stop-losses, monitor your EAs and know how to switch them off — in MetaTrader 5, the Algo Trading button stops all EAs at once.

Limits of AI-generated code and analysis

  • AI models make mistakes, and can present wrong information with confidence.
  • Code that compiles isn't necessarily correct. It may repaint, use future data in backtests (look-ahead bias), mishandle sessions or time zones, or size positions incorrectly.
  • A chart analysis only sees your screenshot. It has no access to news, fundamentals, order flow or the future, and the price levels it reads are approximate. Analyses are educational, not trading signals or recommendations.
  • Nothing Edgoro produces takes your personal circumstances, objectives or risk tolerance into account.

Backtests and past performance don't predict the future

Backtest results are hypothetical. They benefit from hindsight, may leave out commissions, spreads, slippage and swaps, depend on the quality of historical data and on how the tester models price movement within each bar, and can be over-optimised to fit the past. Past performance — real or simulated — doesn't guarantee future results. Our article on backtesting mistakes that inflate results explains the most common traps.

Test on a demo account first

Before you trade real money with anything created in Edgoro, we strongly recommend that you:

  1. read the code, or ask Edgoro to explain it, and check it matches your rules;
  2. backtest it with realistic costs over different market conditions;
  3. forward-test it on a demo account for a meaningful period, with the same broker and settings you'll use live;
  4. start live with the smallest position size available;
  5. set account-level limits — such as a maximum daily loss — and keep monitoring.

Edgoro is not a broker or adviser

Edgoro is a software tool. It doesn't provide investment services, isn't a broker or financial adviser, never connects to your brokerage account, never holds your funds and never places trades. Nothing on Edgoro is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. If you need advice, consult an independent, licensed professional.

Your responsibility

You alone decide whether and how to trade, and you're responsible for the code you run on your accounts, for the results, and for complying with the laws, tax rules and broker or prop firm rules that apply to you. See also our Terms of Service.
