Cookies and local storage in brief
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. Local storage is a similar mechanism that keeps data in your browser without sending it to the server with every request. Both can be used for useful things — like keeping you signed in — or for tracking. Edgoro only uses them for the first kind.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the Service to work, so they can't be switched off in Edgoro:
| Purpose | Set by | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Keep you signed in: secure, HTTP-only session tokens for your account | Edgoro (our authentication system) | Up to 30 days; the session ends sooner after 14 days without activity, or when you sign out |
| Protect the sign-in process, for example temporary security values while you sign in with Google | Edgoro (our authentication system) | A few minutes, or until sign-in completes |
Under the EU ePrivacy rules and French law, cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you've asked for don't require consent, which is why Edgoro doesn't show a cookie banner.
Preferences stored in your browser
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| edgoro-theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme | Until you change it or clear your browser data |
We may store similar interface preferences in the same way. They stay on your device, aren't used to identify or track you, and never contain advertising identifiers.
Payment and sign-in pages of our providers
- When you pay, Stripe's payment pages may set cookies needed to process the payment and prevent fraud. Stripe's cookie policy applies to them.
- When you choose to sign in with Google, Google's sign-in pages use Google's own cookies, under Google's policies.
No advertising or analytics cookies
Edgoro doesn't use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels or cross-site tracking. We don't currently use analytics cookies either. If we add audience measurement in the future, we'll update this policy first and, wherever consent is required, ask for it through a banner that lets you refuse as easily as you accept.
Managing cookies
You can view and delete cookies and local storage in your browser's settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to sign in. Clearing local storage simply resets your theme preference.
